The French house producer turned electro-pop star Martin Solveig [a] caught the world’s attention last year with “Hello,” an infectious single featuring vocals from Dragonette and a chorus that simply wouldn’t quit. (The high-concept video, meanwhile, was filmed at the French Open, and even roped in cameos from pro tennis players Novak Djokovic and Gael Monfils.) Now Solveig invites you to be a part of the action with his “Hello” remix contest.

For this contest, we’ve rounded up our very best prize package yet, with three winners selected by Solveig and one winner selected by public vote. Solveig’s top three remixes will be released on Mixture, his label. In addition to that, the producer of the first-place remix receives a Native Instruments Maschine; a Novation SL MKII 61-key keyboard and a LaunchPad controller; the Arturia V Collection set of classic synthesizer VSTs plus Arturia Analog Laboratory soft-synth; FXpansion Geist sampler and DCAM Synth Squad; Ohm Force All All bundle including eight effects and instruments; an online music-production course from Point Blank Music School; $200 Beatport credit; Big Beat/Atlantic t-shirt; and a 1-year subscription to Future Music Magazine, as though the rest weren’t enough.

In addition to a digital release on Mixture, the second-place runner up receives a Native Instruments Audio 2 DJ and Traktor Duo; a Novation Launchpad and Novation Dicer; the Arturia Analog Laboratory; the choice of FXpansion’s Geist or DCAM Synth Squad; Ohmforce Quad Fromage and Ohmicide; and a Big Beat t-shirt. The third-place runner up receives a digital release on Mixture, a Novation Launchpad, Arturia Analog Laboratory, FXpansion Geist or DCAM Synth Squad, Ohmforce Ohmicide, and a Big Beat t-shirt.

Finally, the top-spun remix entry receives a Novation Nocturn, Arturia Analog Laboratory, FXpansion BFD Eco, $50 Beatport credit, and a Big Beat t-shirt.

From the beat to the guitars to the vocals, “Hello” is just crying out to be remixed in every conceivable style. In the encouraging words of our friends and remix contest hosts, Martin Solveig and Mixture Records, “Do your own thing, bring your own colour and universe, break the rules. Surprise us and make us dance.” Download the parts now and put your spin on the tune; submissions close on March 7, so the clock is ticking!

UPDATE: A message from Martin Solveig & Mixture
“Hey! Thanks for all your efforts & remixes! It was great to see that so many of you had their own visions of “Hello”. The downside of receiving so many remixes is that it’s taking us much longer than what we had expected when originally scheduling the contest with Beatport. And as we want each & every remix to be given a chance we are now running late and have still not finished our listening process & selection. Gold digging takes time!

We’ll make sure with Beatport to keep you all updated. The full results will be here soon, thanks for your patience.”
