Much like with his productions, Matt ‘Lone‘ Cutler’s label Magic Wire has been busy carving out a little rave-obsessed niche over the last two years. Slowed-down ‘ardcore rhythms and elongated synth stabs have been the general order of things for Lone and newcomer Neon Jung, and it’s the latter who has returned this week for some full-scale psychedelia via the new garage-rave-electro concoction “Deliruim Tremens“.

It’s one of those special tracks that really nails the light/dark balancing act, peering upwards towards sweet soul melodies and shimmering pads then plunging down to some punishing low-end frequencies. The growing influence of authentic electro has already been well-documented, and Neon Jung makes great use of it here, slowing down the archetypal rhythm until it mutates into a a stepping bass monster. It’s undoubtedly a massive track to unleash over a proper club rig, but I’m really looking forward to hearing some skilled jocks dropping this one over the coming months.
