Decibel Festival offers one of the more forward-thinking line-ups on the American electronic music calendar. But even the Seattle-based annual event couldn’t resist the chance to have Orbital appear at the 2012 edition, which took place in late September.

In an interview before this year’s Decibel, founder Sean Horton told Beatport that Orbital was the group responsible for his entrance into dance music. And he now says that the duo delivered on his expectations. “20 years ago, Orbital opened my heart and mind to underground electronic dance music,” Horton enthusiastically told Beatport News. “I’m happy to report that their performance at the 2012 Decibel Festival was an overwhelming highlight for me and many in attendance this year. The Hartnoll Brothers have never been better.”

For further proof, Decibel sent us this exclusive clip of Orbital performing at the Paramount Theater. Wearing their trademark headlamps, Paul and Phil Hartnoll dance and wave their hands to a blend of Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven Is a Place on Earth” and Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name.” Forget mash-ups—this is pure raving bliss.
