With HIV infection on the rise amongst 18-to-29-year-olds, a slew of dance music artists are coming together to help raise awareness of HIV, AIDS, STDs, and safe sex, devoting their time and energy to Lifebeat‘s Dance for Life campaign, which is affiliated with World AIDS Day, today and tomorrow, Saturday, December 1st. To support the event, Pacha NYC, which hosts Morgan Page this Saturday, is just one of many clubs donating $1 from each admission this weekend.
Plenty more artists, like Zedd, Nervo, Swizz Beatz, Sky Blu, Ne-Yo, and Sophie Green, have gotten involved, and you can, too:
- Night clubs/promoters: Set aside $1 for every paid admission to your venues on Friday, November 30th or Saturday, December 1st.
- DJs: Donate a portion of your fees from your set this week.
- Dance music fans: Make a secure $5 donation by texting “LIFEBEAT” to 85944.
So head on over to Lifebeat‘s website to help raise awareness in the fight against AIDS, and to support the 34 million people currently living with HIV/AIDS.
