Nicky Romero reveals his softer, techier side with "Still the Same Man"

Young Dutch phenomenon Nicky Romero burst onto the worldwide dance music scene with his remix of Green Velvet’s “Flash,” which became one of the biggest festival hits in 2011. Since then, Romero has been a mainstay atop the charts, collaborating with David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Fedde Le Grand, and others to produce hit after hit. His recent collaborations “Like Home” with Nervo and “I Could Be the One” with Avicii are in heavy rotation among DJ sets across the globe.

On “Still the Same Man,” Romero teams up with fellow Dutchmen Nilson and John Christian to bring something a little different, with a debut release on Mark Knight’s Toolroom Records. The track, which samples the classic vocal hook from the 2006 Till West and DJ Delicious track “Same Man,” moves away from the Romero’s signature heavier dance sounds to reveal a somewhat softer side. Featured on Knight’s Toolroom Records Miami 2013 compilation, “Still the Same Man” has more of a tech-house, funky groove—and even a bit of a ’90s house vibe… all just in time for dance music’s biggest week of the year.
