Maceo Plex offers his own smooth take on Butch's "Highbeams"

It seems that lately Maceo Plex can do no wrong. Producer Eric Estornel first came onto the scene with his darker techno alter-ego Maetrik, but later in the game, he switched to deep and soulful groovy sounds, and with that came the creation of Maceo Plex. And since then, he’s had a string of successful tracks, started his own Ellum Audio label, and recently revved up Jupiter Jazz, a project with Danny Daze.

With all of that under his belt, it would only seem fitting that Maceo would be employed to remix a track on super-label Hot Creations—this one being Butch’s and Benjamin Franklin’s “Highbeams.” The background funk is highly characteristic of the Maceo sound, with an added twist of Hot Creations’ flavor and ’80s-esque vocals added to the mix. Having been featured in a plethora of his live sets and mixes, this huge track is now ready for official summertime play.
