Billboard has confirmed that DJ, producer, and singer Romanthony died at the age of 46 earlier this month on May 7 at his home in Austin, Texas. The cause of his death has not be made public.
Romanthony (born Anthony Moore) was a multi-talented instrumentalist who had been crafting deep-house tracks since the early ’90s, but it was his vocal turn on Daft Punk’s “One More Time” that thrust him into the popular-music spotlight. Friend and collaborator Boysnoize confirmed via Twitter that the two were working on track together before Moore’s passing. “It is so sad. Romanthony and me were working on such an amazing song together. He said it was the best song he had ever written,” he wrote.
