Flume remixes Disclosure, Avicii teases his new tune with Aloe Blacc, W&W is forced to cancel June live dates, and is a new Kraftwerk album in the works?

Forming a dream team of young electronic producers, Australia’s Flume shares his remix of London brothers Disclosure while Avicii teases the somewhat controversial, country-infused “Wake Me Up” tune which first premiered at Ultra earlier this year. All that, plus some unfortunate news for W&W fans, but possibly great news for fans of Kraftwerk!

- Australian wunderkind Flume (pictured above) has shared his “Orchestral Crunkwave” remix of Disclosure’s “You & Me” from the brotherly duo’s hotly tipped debut full-length, Settle. Give it a spin below.


- “Levels” mastermind Avicii, has teased a preview of his new track with Aloe Blacc (best known as the vocalist behind the infectious “I Need a Dollar” tune) which first premiered—to some controversy—at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami earlier this year. Take a listen to a snippet of the country-flavored “Wake Me Up” below before it premieres on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show this Friday.


- An unfortunate bit of news has surfaced that, due to the health issues of W&W member Willem van Hanegem, the Dutch trance duo has been forced to cancel all of its remaining June live dates. Fortunately, a somewhat speedy recovery is anticipated, meaning that W&W will be able to honor many of its other planned tour dates throughout July and August. (full story)

- Mega DJ Laidback Luke was the latest subject of the insightful video series My Son the DJ. Over the course of a new twenty-plus minute clip, the Dutch jock talks about how he deals with the stresses and pressures of a constant tour schedule and how he manages to interact with his family amidst it all. Appearances by Laidback Luke’s parents, his wife (via Skype), and his touring kung fu teacher are included.


- The EDMbiz conference is set to kickoff next week, bringing a wide array of speakers and panelists to Las Vegas in order to discuss everything EDM before the 2013 edition of Electric Daisy Carnival gets underway. With the conference fast approaching (June 18-20, to be exact), EDMbiz shared its second wave of panelists which includes the likes of Afro Jack, Steve Aoki, Pete Tong, and Beatport CEO Matt Adell. -Though he’s discussed it before, Kraftwerk member Ralf Hütter again made some revealing comments in a recent interview with The Guardian which seemed to signal that a ninth studio album from the legendary electronic outfit was indeed in the works. (full story)
