Rising Dutch producer The Close Up is a few weeks away from dropping his debut release, the Better With You EP, but before that we have the premiere of the seemingly pleasant, but slightly confounding video for the upcoming record’s title track.
Chus & Ceballos, the Spanish masterminds behind their own signature “Iberican Sound,” are renowned the world over for their amazing marathon live mix sets at NYC’s Pacha, influential studio productions, and in-demand remixing touch. In this new, behind-the-decks documentary 10 Years in NYC, the camera captures the duo’s decade in the dance music game.
Canadian DJ/producer Sydney Blu is on the move again, and today we’re excited to premiere to the world the third installment of her Being Sydney Blu tour diary, which, this time, takes place in the birthplace of house music: Chicago. The trip saw her play at Sound-Bar and also catch up with old friends there to discuss the city’s legendary status.
We already love the deep, techy house work from Klasse Recordings’ Luca Lozano and Crosstown Rebels’ Amirali, so consider us pleased as punch to present to you exclusively the video for their latest collaboration, “Sail On.” Featuring Amirali’s vocals, the track is kissed with some emotional piano and a persistent, almost rock-sounding drum pattern carrying it forward into darker territories. The black-and-white video, which likely mimics the title of Lozano’s forthcoming album, Life In Black And White, nicely mirrors the track’s vibe. Check it out here, and grab the tune when it’s released on Wednesday.
Simian Mobile Disco may not be letting their new Live album out of the bag until April 15 (on their own Delicacies imprint), but they’ve given us something pretty darn special for you today—some unseen footage from that recording, made in Philadelphia last December. Last year, Mssrs Ford and Shaw spoke with us about their huge amount of gear, much of which you’ll see in this clip below being used to recreate live versions of hits like “Hustler,” “It’s The Beat,” and “Cruel Intentions.”
Szczecin, Poland/Berlin, Germany-based duo Catz ‘N Dogz (aka Voitek Taranczuk and Gregory Demianczuk) are in the preparatory stages of releasing Friends Will Carry You Home Too, which is due on their own Pets Recordings label on February 4. But today we have for you the video premier for one of the comp’s tracks by the pair themselves, a real low-slung groover of an electronic-pop tune featuring the vocals of James Yuill entitled “Starlight.”
A “No Music Allowed” sign isn’t the type of thing we’re used to seeing at the Beatport office, but hey, we understand that’s the case in certain workplaces—and dammit, we feel for you. Italy’s Lula Circus have a little fun with the concept in their new video for “Theory of Folds,” which features a tweak on California’s bear mascot (some call him Oski).
We’re excited to be the first to bring you techno and house god John Acquaviva’s new video for a collaborative track he made last year with Alex D’Elia, Nihil Young, which features Dan Diamond on vocals.
Last month, Bulgarian vocalist Rachel Row released the Follow the Step EP for Catz ‘n Dogz’s Pets imprint, and today we’re pleased to be the first to bring you the video for the KiNK Beat Mix of that record’s title track. The video for “Follow the Step” features plenty of hazy color filters, shaky camerawork, and even some jump rope for good measure.
