smashed his way into my student bedroom back in 2004, with the massive ‘Ice Cream For Kenton’, and I’ve tracked the Londoner’s production career ever since.
A true underground head, Londoner Perc rarely steps out of the techno shadows, even though his productions have landed on some of techno’s leading labels like Kompakt, Drumcode, CLR, and Traum.
As expected, over the years Perc’s sound has changed. Today, Perc’s sound has moved towards the dark and heavier dub side of techno, as championed by the crew surrounding Berghain and Sandwell District.
His recent ‘Mathlete’ EP on Ovum Recordings – the 200th release for Josh Wink’s label – dragged its feet through sleazy machine-driven fog, and as these five Weekend Weapons show, Perc is refining the sound in his own unique way through his DJ sets, Perc Trax label, and productions.
