You see them on their own heading up a story on your favorite music blog and you don’t think twice about the sullen DJ press pic. Playground profiles Terror Danjah

By Beatport News Editors

Edited by the distinguished Barcelona journalist Javier Blanquez, Spain’s PlayGround has long been the country’s dominant website for music news, reviews, features and multimedia. Recently, it began publishing in English, positioning itself somewhere in between Pitchfork, Resident Advisor, and FACT with a mix of coverage that runs from leftfield electronic music to indie rock to hip-hop. More power to them: we could definitely use a few more quality music websites to liven up the field.

One of PlayGround’s most ambitious undertakings is PlayTV, an online channel featuring original video content that goes way beyond the typical online-promo fluff piece. Case in point: “PlayPortrait: Inside Terror Danjah,” an 18-minute mini-documentary on the pioneering grime musician. As profiles go, it’s far more candid than the norm, going truly up close and personal as Terror Danjah goes about his daily life and opens up about his history.

Terror Danjah’s album Undeniable is out this week on Hyperdub [l], and it’s well worth a listen. Peep the doc above and check out the album after the jump.
