Seriously, we really don’t like the term “EDM”—truth is, if we can’t avoid using it, you’ll likely see us putting it in scare quotes. But as is the case, we can’t exactly change the name of the study done by Eventbrite recently, entitled “EDM by the Numbers,” which mined data from fans of dance music and fans of non-dance music, based on their concert-going behavior. As a result, some interesting facts do stand out: 78% of dance fans were much more likely to go to an event if several of their friends were attending, vs. 43% of other music concert attendees. They’re also far more likely to be engaged in social media before, during, and after the show than their non-dance-music-fan counterparts. Check out the graphic below to see all the different stats.
