2012 has been a big year for Roel Salemink and if you don’t yet recognize his name, you will. He’s been releasing hits since 2008 on labels like Bush, Incorrect, and MBE, collaborating with the likes of Steve Mulder, and receiving huge support from Carl Cox and Pete Tong. His latest track, “Strong,” appears on Stefano Noferini’s Deeperfect Records.

Salemink’s formula for “Strong” is pretty simple. The arrangement, percussion, wet hi-hats, sub-bass… you’ll find this style in many of today’s techno tracks. But Salemink is masterful at selecting the right elements and mixing them together to create a driving tune that leaves you wanting more. The whole is definitely greater than the sum of its parts here, yet the finer details are not lost on the listener.
