Australia provided some of the freshest sounds for our weary eardrums in 2012, and 2013 is already shaping up to be another musically defining year for the land down under. One live act we expect to step right into the limelight is Brisbane-based Wolfwolf. Armed with an MPC and recently signed to Nurvous Records, this future-funk master is poised to make huge waves in the dance music scene in 2013, so keep an eye out.

Sum up 2012 in three words.

Exciting. Busy. Lucky.

There’s been a lot written about you lately… tell us one thing about yourself the press has missed.

By day, I am a town planner. By night, Wolf.

Have a favorite track from last year?

Although it was released in 2011, probably my most listened to track of 2012 was “Back Home (Mermaids & Dragons)” by Jesse Boykins III. Was lucky enough to meet him in Sydney not too long ago; such a humble guy!

Besides you, who else should we keep an eye on this year?

Vanilla from UK. Amazing production! And a guy from the Gold Coast, Australia, called Paces. Big things for both these producers this year, I feel!

Any predictions for 2013, music or otherwise?

Trap will end and I’m going to try to do a lot of shows internationally.
