If you know house music, you know Bad Boy Bill’s place in its pantheon. Not only did he bring a homegrown style of DJing to his Chicago base, but from the mid-’90s through 2005, his Moody label dropped hit after hit from some of the genre’s biggest names. Now, nearly a decade later, BBB (aka William Renkosik) is relaunching the label—and those classic tracks—in the digital realm. “The music tends to be a deeper, funkier, soulful sound, and that is refreshing against a backdrop of EDM madness,” he says. “It’s a good time to bring that sound back.” As such, he’s hipped us to a few of his favorites from the catalog. Check them out below.

This track definitely puts you in a party mood. A unique catchy vocal with an incredible remix by Steve Smooth and JJ Flores made this an international hit.

This is still one of my favorite Moody tracks. This record got some heavy rotation during my DJ sets in the early 2000s. Can you relate?

One of my funkier tracks featuring Kevin Irving’s smooth vocals. A positive message and a great vibe.

What can I say? One of the biggest house records of all time, and I am very proud to have it on my label.

This track is jackin’ filtered house at its finest. Darryl Pandy’s voice will always be the sound of Chicago house music.
