JumoDaddy won Zomboy’s “Here to Stay” contest with this entry and had this to say: “I’m a big fan of 110 bpm. The original track was very inspiring in general. I like Lady Chann’s vocals, since I’ve played reggae/dancehall music for years. I tried to reform the whole song into something that reminds me of Jamaican soundclashes. I like the musical-war feeling of the lyrics and I tried to emphasize this with the well-known dancehall samples, such as “bullet” from Bounty Killer and the “anyone test dead” soundclash sample. I also added some military-march drums and some air-raid sirens, which sound like a pad under the breakdown. Of course, it’s not about real war—just musical battle. It was a competition after all.”
